Stop moralising your pleasure

What if pleasure isn’t a reward, but an opportunity for revelation?

A couple of weeks ago I said this (see below) and so this transmission is an expansion of some psychic knots that bind us to ‘moralising’ our pleasure.

It’s hard not to see some cultural and theological roots of why we’ve been taught to mistrust our desires. So I traced the moralisation of pleasure from early Christian (patriarchal) thought to today’s aesthetic rebranding, red pill ideologies, and TikTok trad-wife trends.

A style is just a style.. but the way the “clean girl” aesthetic is often positioned with the “baddie” look reveals something ancient. It echoes the old psychic split: good vs evil, virtue vs temptation, Eve vs Lilith. And, what does that say about how femininity is still being policed through the illusion of choice?
